Two years ago, we heard how the Ohio-based Smart Tire Company was developing shape memory airless bicycle tires. Well, the resulting Metl tires can now be purchased via – you guessed it – a Kickstarter campaign.
The never-go-flat tires were created in partnership with NASA, which had already applied the same technology to tires for its planetary rover vehicles ... after all, it would be pretty difficult to fix a flat on the surface of the Moon or Mars. And no, they're not literally airless. They're hollow – so they have air in them – that air just isn't pressurized, nor is it required for the tire to hold its shape.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) and the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) have entered into a key strategic partnership together to establish a universally recognized, global standard water safety course and certification for surfing and stand-up paddle (SUP) coaches and instructors. In its first year (2017) this course was wildly successful being run 27 times in 17 countries for 290 surf and SUP instructors.
The ISA/ILS International Surf and SUP Instructor Aquatic Rescue and Safety Course is specific for the surf instructing environment and available for all ISA and ILS Members to access. The course can be presented by ILS Member Organizations and those with formal endorsed trainer/assessor qualification.

Hotărârea de Guvern privind organizarea, funcţionarea și atribuțiile Agentiei Naţionale pentru Sport a fost adoptată în cadrul ședinței de astăzi a Executivului.
În conformitate cu aceasta, Agenția Naţională pentru Sport se organizează ca instituţie publică, cu personalitate juridică, în subordinea Guvernului şi în coordonarea prim-ministrului, cu finanțare de la bugetul de stat prin bugetul Secretariatului General al Guvernului, având rol de sinteză și coordonare a aplicării strategiilor și politicilor Guvernului în domeniul sportului, ca urmare a reorganizării prin transformare a Ministerul Sportului, care se desființează.
