Nokia to publish first-quarter report on April 30, 2020 |

Nokia will publish its first-quarter report on April 30, 2020 at approximately 8 a.m. Finnish time (EEST). The financial report will be made available on the Nokia website immediately after publication.
Nokia only publishes a summary of its financial reports in stock exchange releases. The summary focuses on Nokia Group's financial information as well as on Nokia's outlook.
The detailed segment-level discussion will be available in the complete financial report available at www.nokia.com/financials. Investors should not solely rely on summaries of Nokia's financial reports, but should also review the complete report with tables.

Potrivit reprezentanţilor angajaţilor, oamenii se pot întoarce la muncă doar în condiţii de siguranţă, aşa că s-a stabilit ca întreaga activitate de producţie de maşini să fie reluată începând cu data de 4 mai.
„Noi am analizat ce se întâmplă în România. Am văzut cam cum se prevede problema pandemiei şi am dat răgaz angajatorului nostru, Dacia, să facă toate condiţiile pentru a relua în condiţii de securitate activitatea pentru toţi salariaţii”, a declarat, pentru MEDIAFAX, Nicolae Paveslescu, lider sindicatul Dacia.
Potrivit reprezentanţilor sindicatului din fabrica Dacia, a doua zi după Paşte, 250 de oameni din cei peste 4.000 de salariaţi din Uzina Mecanică şi Şasiuri vor începe producţia de motoare şi cutii de viteză.
Tot atunci, alţi 190 de oameni vor începe să lucreze în departamentul „presaj”, unde se produce o parte din piesele folosite la fabricarea autoturismelor.

Ovidiu Burcă, Dan Alexa, Antonio Sefer și Facundo Mallo au fost în această dimineață voluntari într-o acțiune organizată de Primăria Sectorului 1, în care s-au împărțit ajutoare persoanelor de peste 65 de ani din sector.
"Rapid este un club ce mereu a fost alături de fanii lui, dar nu numai. În aceste zile noi trebuie să avem grijă în primul rând de seniori. Este timpul nostru pentru a avea grijă de ei! Ne bucurăm că îi putem ajuta.”

Exercise prevents onset of liver cancer in high-risk mice |

Liver cancer rates have more than tripled since 1980, according to the American Cancer Society, and a rise in obesity and type 2 diabetes have played a significant role in this trend. Scientists investigating these links in mice have uncovered new evidence of the importance of exercise in keeping these conditions at bay, finding that it likely prevents early onset of liver cancer in high-risk individuals.
The benefits of regular exercise in maintaining health and wellbeing are well known, and recent research has pointed to the role it can play in preventing or even combating cancer. The new study conducted by researchers at the Australian National University (ANU) sought to dive a little deeper into this, and if exercise could prevent liver cancer in those already at high risk.
“We know exercise helps reduce rates of some cancers already but we wanted to find out if exercise would reduce liver cancer rates when there is a high risk of developing it,” says ANU’s Professor Farrell. “For example, if you have had or have hepatitis C, cirrhosis and you're a type 2 diabetic you have really a very high rate of liver cancer.”
Specifically, the team studied how fatty liver disease linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes can act as a precursor to liver cancer, and how exercise could break this chain of negative health outcomes. Mice were engineered to over-eat in order to develop obesity and type 2 diabetes, with the rodents then injected with cancer-causing agents early in life.

IMF Reaches Staff-Level Agreement on Sixth Review for Georgia’s Extended Fund Facility |

IMF team reaches a staff level agreement with the Georgian authorities for the completion of the Sixth Review and an augmentation of access under the Extended Fund Facility. Pending the Executive Board approval, about $200 million will be made available immediately to the budget to help Georgia cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Higher IMF financing will help meet urgent medical and socio-economic needs, secure other donor funding, and support the recovery.
• The authorities have taken decisive steps to contain the COVID-19 pandemic and limit its economic impact.
An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Mercedes Vera Martin conducted discussions on the Sixth Review and on augmentation of access under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) during April 1-13, 2020.
